Year 5 Homework diary

Homework in year 5
Reading
Please encourage your child to read at least 3 times a week, sometimes with you, sometimes independently. Discuss the books they are reading. Developing an increased engagement with reading will help them to succeed at school.
Maths
The multiplication tables are an essential piece of knowledge to have in order to deal flexibly with numbers. Every child has access to the TTRockstars website/ game to practice their tables regularly. They will also take home games and puzzles to use to practice the tables facts.
Every week they will have a quick tables test to see if their knowledge has improved.
More links will appear here regularly.
Spellings
Each week the children receive a set of spellings from the National Curriculum or following spelling rules/ patterns.
They will be tested on them on Fridays.
